Auto-loc-3 Hitch Details

The Auto-Loc coupler has six main safety features:

  1. The Coupler eliminates the dependence on the operator to manually insert the safety pin for safe operation. The operator does not have to leave the operators cab as the double locking system is activated automatically. Resulting in increased site safety and machine utilization/ productivity.

  2. The safety mechanism is highly visible to the machine operator from the operators cab; it is therefore possible to clearly verify that the safety mechanism has been activated successfully into the locked condition. The Auto-Loc coupler with its fully automatic two pin capture system complies with all current British Standards and also the recently introduced requirements of a number of key industry leaders.

  3. The attachment can only be un-coupled when close to ground level. A “positioner” has been fitted to ensure that the attachment is always close to the ground before release. The positioner will only permit the release of the safety mechanism when the hitch is at an angle of 45° or more to the ground level. This is to ensure that the attachment is in a safe working position when the safety is taken off.

  4. Pilot operated check valve in coupler cylinder maintains pressure in coupler cylinder in the event of a hydraulic hose failure.

  5. At the rear of the machine where the coupler solenoid valve is fitted there is a one way flow valve in the hydraulic circuit. This will maintain pressure in the hydraulic lines in the event of the check valve failing in the main cylinder.

  6. In the event of a failure of the main hydraulic cylinder there is a substantial change in the coupler operation. The Auto-Loc prevents the operator from continuing to use the coupler for normal use while only relying on the safety mechanism.
